QR code feedback for restaurants

A guest who won’t flag down a server will absolutely scan a QR code. Bentu puts a private feedback channel on every table, so you hear about a cold entrée while there’s still time to make it right, not in a one-star review.

Free to start, and no credit card for the 30-day trial. We check every claim by hand, usually within 2–3 business days.

Guests don’t complain to your face

Ask “how is everything?” and nearly everyone says “great” — including the table that’s quietly decided never to come back. Confrontation is uncomfortable, servers are busy, and guests don’t want to make a scene. So the honest version of the answer shows up days later, in public, on a review site, where you can’t fix it.

A QR code changes the physics of the conversation. Scanning a code and saying Meh, Good or Great takes a few taps and doesn’t require making eye contact with anyone. The feedback that used to leak onto Yelp lands in your dashboard instead — often while the guest is still in the building.

How to get the most from a feedback QR code

A code only works if guests notice it, understand what it’s for and finish what it asks. What helps, whichever tool you use:

  • Put it where guests have a spare minute: the table, the check presenter, the pickup counter, the to-go bag.
  • Say what it’s for in words beside the code, such as “How was everything? Tell the owner privately.” A bare code is easy to ignore.
  • Keep the ask short. A rating and an optional sentence is easy to finish on a phone; a long survey is not.
  • Print it big enough to scan from a seat, and keep it clean and flat. Bentu’s codes hold only your restaurant’s link, so they scan from a 2-inch sticker.
  • Read what comes in at the same time every day, so a Meh at lunch gets a reply before dinner service.
  • Act on it: fix what guests keep raising and tell your staff what changed, so the code feels worth scanning.

What you get with Bentu

Bentu is built specifically for restaurants — not a generic survey tool with a QR code bolted on.

  • Printable QR codes for tables, the counter and receipts, made in your dashboard as PNG or PDF.
  • A few taps for the guest: Meh, Good or Great, whether they’d come back, and a few words if they like. No app download, no account required from guests.
  • Every visit in your dashboard, with replies to guests who have a Bentu account.
  • Recovery offers on the trial and Founding Member: a guest who says Meh gets their own code for next time.
  • Review invitations on the trial and Founding Member: a guest who says Great is invited to post their words on Google or Yelp.
  • A monthly AI report that names what guests keep praising and what they keep raising (trial and Founding Member).

No hardware, no POS integration, no IT project

The QR code is the entire integration. Bentu runs alongside Toast, Square, OpenTable, or whatever you already use — nothing to install, nothing to connect. Print the code, put it on the table, and feedback starts arriving.

From claim to the first scan

  1. Step 1

    Claim your business

Find your restaurant on Bentu and claim it. It takes a few minutes, and we check every claim by hand, usually within 2–3 business days.

  2. Step 2

    Print your QR codes

Make folding table tents, table stickers, check cards, to-go stickers and posters straight from your dashboard: sheets with cut marks for your own printer, or print-ready files for a print shop.

  3. Step 3

    Hear from your guests

Guests scan, tap, and type. Their feedback lands in your dashboard — and, if you’ve chosen a recovery offer, a guest who says Meh gets a reason to give you another shot.

Pricing

Start on Free with no credit card. After the 30-day trial, Founding Member is $12 a month for one location.

Questions owners ask

Do my guests need to download an app?

No. Scanning the QR code opens a web page. A rating, a few words if they like, and they’re done — no app, no account, no email required from guests.

Where should I put feedback QR codes?

Where guests have a free minute and a phone in hand: on the table, on the check presenter, at the pickup counter and on to-go bags. Bentu’s table tents, stickers, check cards and posters are made for those spots.

Does it integrate with my POS?

It doesn’t need to. Bentu is deliberately independent of your POS — the QR code is the whole integration, so there’s nothing to break and nothing to configure.

Will QR feedback reduce my public reviews?

Usually the opposite. Unhappy guests get a private outlet instead of Yelp, and on the trial and Founding Member, guests who say Great are invited to post their words on Google or Yelp at the moment they’re happiest. Whether they do is up to them.

Can I use Bentu for multiple locations?

Free, the trial and Founding Member each cover one location. For a group, write to hello@bentu.co and we’ll work it out with you.
