A private feedback app for everywhere you eat

Bentu is a restaurant feedback app built around one idea: your opinion about a meal is worth more when it goes to the right place. Instead of posting a public review for strangers, you send quick, private feedback straight to the restaurant — and keep a personal record of every place you visit for yourself.

Over time, Bentu becomes your food journal. Every spot you rate lands on your personal passport map. Build lists of favorites — best tacos, date-night spots, coffee worth a detour — and rank them with fast head-to-head comparisons instead of arbitrary star ratings. When a friend asks “where should we eat?”, share a list as a beautiful, browsable map.

Restaurants that have claimed their page on Bentu read your feedback as a direct, private message — not a public rating. If you have a Bentu account and the restaurant is on its trial or Founding Member plan, it can reply to say thanks or make it right if something was off. Honest feedback, no pile-ons.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Eat somewhere, tell Bentu

Scan the QR at the table or search for the spot. Thumbs up or down, add a quick note about what you had — done in under a minute, right when the meal is fresh in your mind.

  2. Step 2

Your feedback goes straight to the source

Restaurants that have claimed their page on Bentu read your feedback privately. No public shaming, no star rating following them around forever — just honest input they can actually act on.

  3. Step 3

    Your food history builds itself

Every entry joins your passport map and your rankings. Quick head-to-head comparisons sort your favorites, and personal notes help you remember what to order next time.

Questions, answered

What is Bentu?

Bentu is a private restaurant feedback and food journaling app. Diners use it to send quick, private feedback straight to restaurants and to keep a personal record of everywhere they eat — with rankings, lists, notes, and a map. Restaurants use it to hear from guests directly instead of finding out on public review sites.

Is my feedback public, like a review?

No. Feedback goes privately to the restaurant, read by its team once it has claimed its page on Bentu, and is never posted publicly, and your visits stay yours. The one thing you can make public is a list: a new list starts out public so friends can open your link, and you can make any list private. Bentu is not a review site.

How do restaurant rankings work?

Instead of asking you to score places out of ten, Bentu shows you quick head-to-head comparisons — “which did you like more?” — and builds your ranked list from your answers. It takes seconds and produces rankings that actually reflect your taste.

Is Bentu free for diners?

Yes. Creating an account, leaving feedback, building lists and rankings, and sharing them is completely free for diners, always.

I own a restaurant — can I use Bentu to collect guest feedback?

Yes. Bentu for Restaurants gives you a QR code guests can scan to send you private feedback before it becomes a public review, plus tools to win back unhappy guests and nudge happy ones toward Google. See the For Restaurants page for details.
